Hejsan (Hello) - my name is Linda Liebrand and I’m a Swedish mum teaching my son Swedish in the UK.
Many parents who teach their kids Swedish ‘abroad’ wonder if it’s really possible to do it all on your own. As a mum, teaching my son Swedish in the UK, I know exactly how challenging it can feel sometimes when you’re the only adult speaking Swedish.
When my son turned two years old and started talking - it suddenly dawned on me that I really wanted him to understand my mother tongue. As I set about teaching him Swedish and I worried that I might have started too late - I promised myself one thing: I would never turn learning Swedish into a chore or a must, instead, it had to be fun and play-based so he would want to learn more.
It was hard to find Swedish books and learning material abroad - and as you might imagine, this experience is exactly what inspired me to start writing my own bilingual books and learning materials in Swedish and English.

FAQs
What age groups is this kit suitable for?
This language kit is tailored for children aged 3-6. But as we know, all kids develop and learn languages and writing at their own speed, and some activities will be suitable for younger and older kids too.
What if I don’t have a home printer?
If you don’t have a home printer, then look for print services online or in your local area. Some supermarkets, post offices and stationery shops have commercial printers where you can email the digital PDF files for printing.
Is this a language course?
This is not a language course, and there are no grammar lessons (pfew!). Instead, I created this activity kit to naturally build your children’s curiosity about the Swedish language.
They’ll build vocabulary through the joy of listening to the book and suggested worksheets and games.
All material is bilingual in Swedish and English so even if your own Swedish is a little rusty, you can support your child’s learning.
Are there audio recordings included?
No - at the moment audio is not included for this language kit as it’s been developed for families where at least one grown-up has basic knowledge of the Swedish language and is able to support the kids with the exercises.
