Mother’s day - or Mors Dag as it’s called in Sweden is one of those celebrations that can easily slip under the radar when you live abroad. But let’s not forget about it this year!

In Sweden, this day is celebrated on the last Sunday of May every year - and we often congratulate our grandmothers on the same day!

Because I’m teaching my son Swedish abroad, I like to try and stay on top of the Swedish celebrations whenever I can. And to make it a little easier this year I’ve created some easy to print out PDF cards that I’m sharing with you here on the blog today.

There’s a card for mamma, mormor and farmor and you can choose between A4 sized or US letter sized cards (and American and UK spelling for mum and Mom!).

And once you have your card ready, why not check out my fun gift guide with lots of ideas for your Swedish mum.

How to use the cards

  1. Download the bilingual Swedish-English in your preferred paper size below.

  2. Print off the cards using the thickest paper your printer can handle.

  3. Fold the cards in half like a greeting card you’d buy in the shops.

  4. Ask your kids to colour in the text, add glitter and other decorations.

  5. Place in an envelope and post it! Or take a photo of the card and email it if you’re running late (I know that feeling!)

These cute mugs are available in my gift shop - international shipping.
