A bilingual autumn activity book for kids learning Swedish abroad

With autumn (or fall, depending on where you are in the world) in full swing, what could be better than a lovely book to introduce your kids to some fab autumn vocabulary?

Introducing Hejsan Hösten - Hello Autumn/Fall

Your kids will love this wonderfully autumnal activity book and here’s what they’ll learn.

Read and learn about autumn

The first part of the book is all about what happens when autumn arrives. What happens with the temperature and weather? Who hibernates until spring? And who is gathering nuts? And who forgot their umbrella? The adorable images and fun facts look great printed off, or seen on a screen.

Listen again and again

Your kids will love listening to the audio book on repeat. And what’s even better is that they might get exposed to a new native Swedish accent. My narrator Elionor Thulemark recorded the book in a soft southern Swedish Blekinge accent and it sounds fab. You can provlyssna (listen in) a little below.

Join the Swenglish Life Book Club to get access to Hejsan Hösten - Hello Autumn. Monthly members can download the book inside the member’s area until the 30th September. Annual members can access the book anytime.

NEW! The book is now also available as paperback (excluding audio) from Amazon UK and Amazon USA.

Play and Learn More

Your kids will deepen their learning through play and colouring in the second part of the book. They will love colouring in a hibernating bear, talk about warm clothes and count how many hazelnuts the squirrel has hidden away. Then, because kids learn so much through music, there are suggested songs about all things autumn that you can listen to on Youtube

Learn to write - and build your autumn vocab further

At the end of the book there’s a fun writing exercise where your kids can get stuck in learning to write some typical autumn words in both Swedish and English. I’ve also included a memo game, and suggestions for autumn songs to help your kids build their vocabulary in a fun way. So much fun!
